There is little to say about this other than I don't think slapping my forehead is enough. Not only can I not think of a way to fight things like this, I am as guilty as the next guy when I throw away junk made from plastic. Whenever I buy food, toiletries, computer components, medicines or what-have-you -- it is covered by, bagged in, and even composed of -- plastic.
I also try to recycle everything the city trash business will recycle, and hope they don't just go dump it all in the ocean. I can't really track it all down, and here in California we tend to at least make token attempts to save the environment. Yet there are so many people here that we can't help but produce huge amounts of pollution.
Plus, there are plenty of people that make no attempt whatsoever to recycle, and everything goes into the same trash bin. What can I say?
